Upon graduating from Damascus University with a BS in Civil engineering, Nizar began his professional career in the construction industry, initially focusing on developing power lines and power stations. Recognizing a unique opportunity, he expanded into hotel projects across the Middle East, rapidly establishing himself as a leading civil contractor.
In the early 1980s, responding to the surge in demand for oil and gas infrastructure, Nizar formally entered the industry, developing gas and power plants.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Nizar expanded further into oil, gas, and power station infrastructure projects. Collaborating as a subcontractor to global giants such as Brown & Root Int. Inc., Davy McKee, and Kvaerner Process/USA, he played a pivotal role in large-scale projects for industry players like Total, Shell, and Conoco.
Responding to the call of EPC leaders like Petrofac, Saipem, and KBR, Nizar embarked on an international journey, exploring business opportunities in Algeria, Qatar, and the UAE, marking a time of cross-continental exploration and establishment.
Since the unrest in Syria, Nizar has begun prioritizing philanthropic projects by supporting charities aimed at uplifting Syrian refugees and the internally displaced affected by the conflict.
In 2020, during the Covid period, and after the loss of his brother, he decided to retire from the corporate world, keeping an eye on new ventures, investment, and philanthropy work.
